The time has finally come. Two of the biggest and best names in dance music have officially joined forces! Following nearly two years of teasers, Australian-born producer Wax Motif and GRAMMY-nominated artist ZHU have just released their long-awaited collaboration “Better Recognize” via Astralwerks.
Wax and ZHU are true trailblazers, and it comes as no surprise that this collaboration is absolutely fire! The two Chinese-rooted masterminds co-wrote the track and produced it together at Zhudio, ZHU’s iconic Los Angeles studio. The fiery new record has been crafted to perfection with Wax’s inventive production style and features ZHU’s ethereal vocals that were recorded in the picturesque Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. It really does not get better than this. “Better Recognize” gained quick popularity on festival and club circuits worldwide, especially after ZHU debuted it in Arizona for Goldrush Music Festival. These kinds of collaborations are truly special because they allow fans to experience the unique sounds and styles of both artists as they skillfully combine to create something entirely new.
Of the release, Wax shared:
“It’s been a long time coming that ZHU and I were able to finally catch up in the studio and work together on music. After years of friendship, it was bound to happen but never forced. Better Recognize is the product of two friends coming together and actually making a product we are proud of and something not forced. I hope that everyone enjoys it.”
ZHU continues on to say:
“In the midst of experimenting with new sounds and direction for a new project, I wanted to keep something consistent. Wax and I made a banger for the clubs.”
Wax Motif is headed back to Arizona this New Year’s Eve alongside headliners like John Summit, Chris Lake, Shiba San B2B CID, Loud Luxury, and more at this year’s Decadence Arizona: The Sky Realm on December 30th-31st. Get more info about the festival and grab your passes here!
